Governments and private companies are investing in infrastructure and technologies to improve the efficiency of these nodes and attract more businesses to their cities.<\/p>\n<p>However, what characteristics do these nodes need to have to be considered strategically important?<\/p>\n<p>Connectivity is a crucial factor for the efficiency of a logistics node. This means that the node must be well connected to other transport networks, such as roads, railways and waterways, as well as to telecommunications networks and digital technologies. A node with good connectivity reduces transit times and improves flexibility in the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Another important factor is the scale of the node. A larger node will have a larger storage capacity and a wider variety of services available, which in turn will attract more businesses to use it. In addition, a larger scale node can have a greater impact on the local and regional economy.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is also important to bear in mind that a node that is too large can lead to congestion problems and logistical difficulties.
