The US company is testing faster and quieter drones under the new programme, which has already delivered thousands of packages to customers in 60 minutes or less, and will operate in more cities in the US, Italy and the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Air deliveries are made from sites specifically prepared for this mode of transport, although the company explains that it is working to ensure that the new bases of operations for its drones are located next to the existing network of Prime delivery stations in the United States and Amazon Fulfilment Centres in European cities. Employees select the purchased item and take it to the packing station, where it is prepared with specialised materials for drone delivery. Once packed, the package slides down a ramp to the delivery stage.<\/p>\n<p>Once there, employees prepare the package and drone battery for launch. Safety is a priority, so the drones are thoroughly inspected before flight.
