DB Schenker opens logistics centre to handle e-commerce operations
DB Schenker, a leading company in supply chain management and logistics solutions, officially opened its new automated e-commerce centre in Guadalajara. One of the main customers of this facility is a multinational sportswear company, which will centralise all its e-commerce destined for Spain, Portugal and the south of France.
Miebach Consulting has actively participated in this project, offering consultancy and engineering services for its implementation. More specifically, Miebach has carried out the coordination of the activities with the final customer and the internal and external suppliers and the definition and management of the functional tests of the systems and equipment. Miebach was also involved in the ramp-up to stabilisation.
DB Schenker’s new, highly robotised warehouse consists of almost 50,000 m2 for warehousing and online order picking and has the capacity to process more than 120,000 units per day. It also has the “BREEAM Very Good” sustainable certification, awarded to buildings that reduce environmental impact and save energy costs.
