Malaga’s logistics sector analyses the trends and challenges that will mark 2025

Flexibility, technology and talent are identified as the keys to making this province a logistics benchmark at national and international level.

Logistics Forum, together with APD, Eulen Group and the Port Authority of Malaga have analysed the main trends in logistics for 2025 and the impact that geopolitical events are having on the business fabric of Malaga.

The event, inaugurated by the president of the Port Authority of Malaga, Carlos Rubio, was attended by the most important companies of the Malaga business network.

Gabino Diego, Founder and CEO of Foro de Logística, highlighted the importance of logistics in the economy and the development of the business fabric in Europe, Spain, Andalusia and Malaga, reviewing the latest geopolitical events that are affecting supply chains. Aspects related to labour issues that hinder the sector’s operations, such as absenteeism, turnover and the difficulties in attracting talent, were also analysed.

This was followed by a debate, moderated by Javier López Seisdedos, commercial director of the Eulen Group, in which the participants presented the current situation of their companies, identifying the main threats and opportunities to which they are subject, derived from geopolitical tensions and the new international context, the evolution of the markets, the massive use of technology, the growing demand for sustainability and the shortage of talent.

MAIN CONCLUSIONS

1. The current situation requires being ‘flexible’ in order to be able to deal with all the disruptions and transformations to which we are currently subjected.
2. The current context of uncertainty and volatility offers important opportunities, and ‘diversification’ is the most appropriate strategy at this time.
