Sergio Clavero, driving a Mitsubishi Edia 16 three-wheel forklift truck provided by distributor Ficara, was the winner of the 7th Forklift Truck and Brand Competition held on Thursday 16 October in the Maintenance Area of Hall 10 at IFEMA during Logistics & Automation 2025. This is the third time that the winner has won this competition.
The professional skills test was once again organised by José Luis Torres and Ricardo J. Hernández, who also collaborate in the area adjacent to the competition and demonstration space, where most of the forklift truck manufacturers and distributors participating in this fair are grouped together. The day before, in the same space, a forklift truck handling course was given to students from the ALAPAR Foundation, thanks to the collaboration of a teacher/trainer from Kirleo (GAM Group).
Six teams with their respective forklift operators participated in this edition of the competition, sponsored by Partner Pack, which also provided customised packaging for the test: Carmen Rivero with a TCM forklift (Cedecar), Eduardo García with EP (AESA), Sergio Clavero with Mitsubishi (Ficara), Bryan Steven with Hyster (GAM), Daniel Maldonado with Yale (GAM) and José Ramón Soto with Bobcat (Lusilectra).
The participants performed a test of skill, precision and safety, moving a load, closely watched by the test jury, which measured the time taken to complete the task and other parameters that all forklift operators must meet in the performance of their work. A large audience watched attentively and applauded the participants.
The test was so close between the top two positions that a final tiebreaker had to be held between Eduardo García (EP, AESA) and Sergio Clavero (Mitsubishi, Ficara).
The jury that evaluated the test was composed of Ester Sánchez, Director of Training and Content at CEL; Pilar Mª Marijuán, Manager of ICIL in Madrid; Félix Estébanez, former President of Medea; and José María González, Director of Training at Formalift, as President of the jury.
At the end of the competition, Sergio Clavero received the cup and diploma certifying him as the winner, and Jorge García Orejana, regional director for Iberia at TCM (Mitsubishi Logisnext Group), received the diploma corresponding to the brand.
In addition to Partner Pack, the companies A-Safe and Ribawood also collaborated in this 7th Forklift Operators and Brands Competition within the framework of Logistics & Automation.
