OMRON Partners with Wiferion for Wireless AMR Charging
OMRON, a global leader in automation technology, has partnered with Wiferion to integrate its inductive wireless charging systems into the OMRON LD series of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing efficient, contactless energy solutions for modern intralogistics and manufacturing environments.
Through this partnership, OMRON now offers a certified wireless charging option for its LD series, allowing AMRs to charge automatically during short, scheduled stops without human intervention. The system eliminates the need for plug-in chargers or separate charging zones, enabling seamless in-process charging that keeps robots operational throughout their work shifts.
Wiferion’s etaLINK technology delivers up to 60 A of charging power wirelessly, ensuring that even high-performance applications – including AMRs with mounted robotic arms or cobots – remain continuously powered. Charging from below the AMR further enhances usability, particularly for robots towing trolleys or operating in tight spaces where side access is limited.
The contactless design is maintenance-free, reducing mechanical wear and extending service life. Additionally, the standardized energy interface supports interoperability, making it easier for integrators and customers to deploy scalable, mixed-fleet solutions across global operations.
This strategic move also supports cleanroom use, as Wiferion’s systems are certified for ISO Class 4 environments, making them ideal for semiconductor and pharmaceutical applications.
With Wiferion’s technology, OMRON strengthens its position in delivering modular, efficient, and future-proof AMR solutions that increase uptime, lower operating costs, and enhance safety in automated workflows.
