Easyfairs is marking Global Exhibitions Day by highlighting trade fairs as the industry’s greatest source of opportunities

  • The initiative, spearheaded by UFI and supported by organisations worldwide, calls on governments and institutions to recognise the economic and social value of the trade fair industry.
  • Óscar Barranco, Managing Director of Easyfairs Iberia, highlights the contribution made by Advanced Manufacturing Madrid and Barcelona, Worksafe Barcelona, Empack, Logistics & Automation and Logistic & Industrial Build to Spain’s industrial sector.
  • In 2025, 472 trade fairs and events with commercial exhibitions were held, attracting 6.8 million visitors and generating an economic impact of €13.6 billion in Spain.

Madrid, 3 June 2026 – Easyfairs is joining in the celebrations for the 11th edition of Global Exhibitions Day, which this year has the theme “Trade fairs create opportunities”. The event, promoted by UFI alongside associations and organisers from around the world, highlights the ability of trade shows to open up new avenues for growth, create valuable connections and accelerate the adoption of more sustainable solutions.

This year, the international message of Global Exhibitions Day centres on three key areas: the opportunities that trade fairs create for people, by fostering learning, collaboration and professional development; for businesses, by driving growth, opening up new markets and facilitating direct contact with customers; and for the planet, by highlighting innovations and responsible practices that help reduce the environmental impact of industries.

In Spain, this message comes at a time of dynamism for the trade fair sector. According to the Spanish Trade Fair Association (AFE), in 2025, 472 trade fairs and events featuring commercial exhibitions were held, attracting 6.8 million visitors and generating an economic impact of 13.6 billion euros. These figures reflect the importance of trade fairs as a tool for economic development, job creation and cross-sector collaboration.

“A trade fair isn’t measured solely by square metres or visitor numbers. It’s measured by what happens inside: the manufacturer who finds the integrator they’ve been searching for for years, the company that discovers a technology set to transform its production process, the professional who leaves with a new perspective on the sector that they didn’t have when they arrived. That’s what Easyfairs strives to create at every event,” says Óscar Barranco, Managing Director of Easyfairs Iberia.

A year of growth for Easyfairs’ trade fairs

Easyfairs, as one of Europe’s leading organisers of trade events, contributes to this ecosystem with a wide portfolio of events across the Iberian Peninsula, including Advanced Manufacturing Madrid and Barcelona, Empack, Logistics & Automation and Logistic & Industrial Build, as well as WorkSafe Barcelona and Empack and Logistics & Automation Porto. Among these, Advanced Manufacturing Madrid will hold its 18th edition on 4 and 5 November at IFEMA Madrid, featuring four halls and over 600 exhibiting companies. New for this edition, the Secretary of State for Trade has officially accredited it as an international trade fair, a recognition that endorses what the fair had already been building on the success of its last edition, where 151 companies from 19 countries participated and 7% of visitors came from outside Spain. Furthermore, this year it will be integrated for the first time into Madrid Tech Week, which establishes the capital as a European benchmark for technological innovation. Meanwhile, Empack, Logistics & Automation and Logistic & Industrial Build complete Easyfairs’ calendar in Madrid with their event on 11 and 12 November in Halls 2, 4 and 6 at IFEMA Madrid. The 2025 edition closed with over 12,200 unique visitors, 426 exhibiting companies and more than 46,000 business interactions.

Easyfairs currently organises 150 events across 16 countries and employs a team of 870 professionals. In 2025, for the seventh consecutive year, Deloitte awarded the company “Best Managed Company” status.
