MixPal

No more manual mixed pallets: Körber's MixPal automates the process without the cost or space of traditional systems.

Building a store-ready pallet with dozens of different products is one of the most labor-intensive tasks in a distribution center, and one that automation has traditionally struggled to solve affordably. Existing mixed-palletizing systems tend to rely on multiple intermediate steps, such as depalletizing, buffering and conveying single cases, which makes them complex, expensive and hard to justify outside large-scale operations.

Körber's MixPal changes that equation. It is a direct pallet-to-pallet solution: autonomous mobile robots bring source pallets to Körber's gantry system, where individual cases or full layers are picked and placed straight onto the mixed order pallet, skipping depalletizing, storage and conveying entirely. Fewer steps mean a smaller footprint, a lower investment, and faster implementation in both existing warehouses and greenfield projects.

Behind the automation sits an AI-based software layer that calculates how to stack different SKUs so every pallet is stable, safe and retailer-compliant, while also generating data-driven insights into warehouse operations. The system can process up to 400 cases per hour per robot, or up to 800 per hour when case and layer picking are combined in a single gantry.

Designed for FMCG, food & beverage and 3PL operations facing labor shortages, rising costs and growing SKU variety, MixPal makes mixed-palletizing automation viable for medium-sized distribution centers, not just the largest players who could previously justify the investment.
