XPO celebrates International Women’s Day with conversations between women leaders and employees across Europe
XPO is actively involved in promoting all forms of diversity and inclusion as an intrinsic part of its culture. The company will mark International Women’s Day by reaffirming its commitment to offering women equal access to all jobs, as reflected in XPO’s first-ever discussion series connecting women leaders with female colleagues across Europe.
Starting on 8 March and continuing throughout the month, XPO will hold a series of internal group discussions at European and national level. This concept, which has been enthusiastically endorsed by XPO’s women leaders, is structured in inspiring conversations where women will share their views on what makes them successful in their roles and proud of their careers. By leading by example, XPO aims to break any potential glass ceiling and encourage female talent in transport and logistics.
In addition to internal discussions, numerous XPO sites have organised nationwide events that have been well received by women leaders from XPO customers, suppliers and business partners, who have been invited to participate. The individual point of view of each of these inspiring women will underline the importance of an open culture.
Valerie Chaut, Head of Human Resources at XPO – Europe, comments: “Our mission as leaders is to promote the modernity and attractiveness of our industry and to fight against the preconceived ideas that these are male-oriented professions. International Women’s Day gives us a pan-European platform to promote the diverse and inclusive culture we are building. Our commitment to equal opportunities for all is central to how we define success in our business.
XPO is also actively involved in promoting an open communication environment that includes access to management positions for women carriers. The company held its first Women Drivers Forums in France and the UK in 2022, offering women the opportunity to speak to managers and suggest ways to improve their work experience. This month, to coincide with International Women’s Day celebrations, XPO will announce the next dates for its 2023 Women Drivers Forums.
