Smartlog automates Consum's logistics platform in Murcia

Spain’s largest food distribution cooperative has automated order fulfillment for slow-moving dry goods items for its stores using an AutoStore system and Smartlog’s Galys management software. The new facility, located at the logistics hub in Murcia, increases efficiency in fulfilling these items by 40% and operates 18 hours a day with 60 R5 PRO robots.
Smartlog has implemented an automated storage and order fulfillment system for Consum at its logistics hub in Murcia, focusing on slow-moving items in the dry goods section. The solution integrates an AutoStore system, a conveyor network, an automatic sorting multi-shuttle, and Smartlog’s proprietary Galys WCS/SGA software, which coordinates all material flows and ensures complete traceability of operations. The result is a facility that operates 18 hours a day, handles up to 1,251 SKUs per hour, and simultaneously prepares 10 orders per picking station.
