Element Logic automates an ID Logistics logistics platform in Catalonia for the beauty sector with AutoStore
Install a Goods-to-Person system with a capacity for 37,500 trays and more than 20,000 references, designed to double the output of boxes and improve operational efficiency
Element Logic has implemented an automation solution based on AutoStore technology at one of ID Logistics' logistics platforms in Catalonia, dedicated to managing the operations of a leading company in the beauty and personal care sector. The project is part of the 3PL's roadmap to leverage automation as a key driver for addressing the increasing volume and complexity of logistics operations. The project's main objective was to meet the client's growth projections, which aimed to double both box output and the number of order lines. To meet this demand, the traditional picking line was progressively replaced with an automated Goods-to-Person (GTP) system based on AutoStore. Thanks to its modular design and adaptability, this system offers greater performance and scalability. The initial system configuration includes a static capacity of 37,500 containers and 20,908 SKUs, and a dynamic capacity of 46 robots, 5 inbound stations, and 8 outbound stations (scalable to 6 and 18, respectively). This configuration optimizes the flow of goods, reduces handling times, and processes 20,091 order lines per day. Furthermore, the facility incorporates an automated box forming line with height reduction and automatic closing, improving packaging efficiency and contributing to the sustainability of operations. The new network is fully integrated with LMxt, the warehouse management system used by ID Logistics at this center, enabling synchronized inventory management, traceability, and coordination with adjacent solutions, including the automated pallet warehouse that combines VNAs, AGVs, and AMRs to ensure a cohesive operational ecosystem.
