Element Logic automates the e-commerce logistics of Grupo Akoma and Bolian in Barcelona

Install an AutoStore solution that will allow the 3PL to multiply its capacity and efficiency in managing the logistics of its customers on an international scale

Akoma Group, a leader in integrated logistics services, has entrusted Element Logic, a warehouse automation specialist, with the transformation of its operations center in Caldes de Montbui (Barcelona). Through a high-performance, compact storage and picking solution based on Autostore, the group will strengthen its Bolian division, which specializes in e-commerce fulfillment. This technology will allow the 3PL to increase its operational capacity and improve the efficiency and accuracy of its international logistics management for its clients. With the growth of the digital sector, Akoma Group and its Bolian division faced the need for an infrastructure capable of absorbing significant increases in demand without compromising space or operational reliability. After analyzing their needs, Element Logic designed and implemented a high-density AutoStore solution occupying an area of ​​589 square meters. The system has a storage capacity of 20,000 bins, stacked in 14 levels, and comprises 17 R5 robots and four carousel workstations, three of which are dedicated to order picking and one to receiving. The project also includes the installation of eManager, software developed by Element Logic to maximize AutoStore's operational efficiency and to monitor and optimize warehouse performance at all times. Thanks to the combination of hardware and software, Grupo Akoma is able to store low- and medium-turnover products and automate their manual picking, improving turnaround times and accuracy in order management.
