Element Logic installs DSV's first AutoStore for the pharmaceutical sector in its Guadalajara warehouse.

The new AutoStore storage and picking system is made up of 21,000 bins, 32 robots and 8 picking stations that will allow the 3PL to reach a processing speed of 100 presentations per hour per operator.

DSV's logistics division has once again entrusted Element Logic with the design and integration of its first AutoStore solution worldwide for the pharmaceutical sector.

The new system, installed at the DSV Fulfilment Factory Healthcare in Cabanillas del Campo (Guadalajara), meets the highest regulatory standards in the healthcare industry and represents a major advance in logistics automation for the operator.

The new robot-managed bin storage and order preparation system significantly increases storage capacity, improves picking efficiency, and optimizes warehouse performance. Thanks to its automated operation, available space is better utilized, processes are streamlined, and precise batch control is guaranteed, reducing wait times.

Installed on a surface area of 1,070 square meters, the AutoStore solution has the capacity to store 21,000 bins. Its operations are managed by 32 robots, which continuously supply eight picking stations, enabling a processing speed of 100 medication presentations per hour per operator. This technology also optimizes warehouse performance, streamlines processes, and guarantees strict adherence to the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle, ensuring product traceability and the precise selection of batches based on their expiration dates.
