Element Logic puts into service the most advanced unit picking robot integrated with AutoStore on the market
The eOperator robot, created by Element Logic to multiply picking efficiency, begins to operate in the AutoStore warehouse of a leading pharmaceutical e-commerce in Europe
Element Logic has launched the most advanced eOperator unit picking robot on the market in the new AutoStore warehouse of Apotea, the leading e-commerce in the pharmaceutical sector in Sweden.
The project, in which Element Logic, AutoStore, RightHand Robotics and Apotea have collaborated, is part of the automation process that the company has just finished at its logistics center in Morgongåva, in the province of Uppsala, to adapt to the rapid growth of the e-commerce of pharmaceutical products.
The installation includes 20,000 bins (with space for a total of 25,000), 30 AutoStore (R5) robots and four carousel ports, three of which are managed by the eOperator unit picking robot.
“During the pandemic, we considered expanding the capacity to be able to go from delivering 50,000 orders to 100,000 orders. That's when we started looking at Element Logic and AutoStore. One of the factors that prompted us to install AutoStore was precisely the possibility of robotizing order preparation”, says Pär Svärdson, CEO of Apotea.
The installation of eOperator, designed by Element Logic, has completed this investment, making the Swedish company an international pioneer in connecting AutoStore with the picking robot, a technology that works fully automatically 24 hours a day, even in darkness, to multiply the efficiency in the preparation of orders. One of the great advantages of this system is its learning capacity, which allows eOperator to automatically select the best way to handle an item for collection, which increases order capacity, as well as handling and delivery times. goods.
