PackVision

Detects sealing, label and date defects, and already reads the GS1 QR code retailers will require by 2027

PackVision is an in-line visual inspection system for food packaging. It checks sealing, label presence and accuracy, expiry date, batch, allergens and both EAN and QR codes on every pack running down the line, and rejects the defective one without stopping production. Up to 90 packs per minute.

Its difference lies in the code: PackVision reads the EAN barcode and the QR code under the GS1 Digital Link standard simultaneously, and verifies that the encoded content is correct. This capability is already operational in industrial production — not a roadmap item — and answers the GS1 Sunrise 2027 transition already under way at Mercadona, Carrefour, Lidl, Alcampo and Eroski.

It features two 4K linear cameras, an optional multispectral camera, LED lighting, automatic centring unit, photocell, rejection system and a 17" touchscreen with recipe storage and self-learning. Behind it: our own technical team in Spain and Portugal, spare parts within 24 hours, SACMI Academy training, and a testing laboratory in Castellón where customers bring their own trays and see the system running with their real product.
